Spring Onion Sprouts

These are my spring onions. I planted them 8 days ago and yesterday just the tips of the blades were visible. The package said 14 days to sprouting. I’m not sure if this means mine are superb performers, the package was wrong or maybe these are too tiny to be classified as “sprouting”. Whatever it is, I’m happy, shoots like this are appearing all along the two rows.

In this photo it’s easy to see that beer mash compost as well. It’s very heavy and holds the water. No idea if the spring onions will like this or not but so far, so good.

The tarragon I planted at the same time remains a no-show. It reportedly sprouts in 10-14 days. I am hopeful but not overly so. The last batch never did appear.
