Birdbath

BirdbathHere’s a birdbath Frank made out of an old hanging lamp shade and old fence palings. Today we put the stones in (for the birds to sit on while flapping about). I’m hunting for some plants that might be suitable. I think I’ll need to keep them in pots so they don’t take over the whole thing. It’s for the birds after all!

Unfortunately, within an hour of Frank sealing the bottom, it started raining. It looks like it might have a slow leak but since we’ve had a bunch of rain showers since installation, it’s hard to be sure.

Note that it sits on a hinged platform so we can empty it with ease. Very clever I think.

For the record it’s 60cm across and 8cm deep. I’ll have to measure the water volume next time I fill it.
