Sunflower Harvest

Sunflower harvets

Here’s the results of my first ever sunflower planting. They have stopped developing, the seeds are black and one of the flowers is dropping seeds (though I couldn’t find any on the ground that had a kernel in them). They’ll hang under the house until… I don’t know, I guess until the seeds really start falling out when I’ll eat them and save some for the next planting.

Next planting will be soonish, when the bed is refreshed with compost and the lunar calendar says it’s time. There is still enough summer left for a second harvest (I’m pretty sure).
