Flower Success

In early September I sowed a myriad of flower seeds around my garden. My plan was to have a few spots overflowing with spring and summer colour. The reality fell far short. For whatever reason, the only flowers that actually bloomed were the cosmos given to me by Africanaussie. These are the last of them. I’ve harvested a couple of handfuls of seeds so hopefully next year they’ll bloom again.

Even though almost all my attempts at growing flowers have turned out to be unmitigated failures, I’m not giving up. I still have seeds left in the original packets and will try again (in the spring?). This time I hope to be around throughout their growth cycle so I can fight off invasive weeds and keep them damp during the critical infant stage. But really, I think I need divine intervention.
