Winter Rings in Autumn

The 1st of June is the official start of Winter in Australia. And this year, almost on cue, Winter brought with it some Autumn colour. My Japanese Maple is (finally) brilliant.

I had begun to despair ever getting any reds this year, but it looks like we’ve had just enough cold weather in the nick of time so I can enjoy this beauty out my window. Which is the only way I’m going to enjoy it because all the dry, warm weather of May is but a fond memory in the cold, wet June that has descended.
