New Succulents

Frank did a good deed, helping a woman carry a parcel home. She rewarded him with cuttings from a couple of her succulents. He’s a huge succulent fan so he was over the moon.

We set the cuttings out to dry.

A couple of days later I dug a small hole in the ground for each and plunked them in.

This bed at the bottom of our back stairs is a perfect spot for succulents. We hack them back occasionally and have had to dig up 2 tree ferns that self seeded here, but basically we leave this bed alone and it rewards us by thriving.

Everyone’s happy, the woman who donated the new succulents, the plants themselves and, of course, Frank and I are happy to have these new additions to our back garden. I love win-win situations.
